چکیده

Psoriasis is an auto-immune disease resulting from a chronic and exaggerated inflammation of the skin hyperproliferation keratinocytes. Conventional topical treatments for this disease, such as anti-inflammatory drugs, present low efficiency, systemic administration synthetic drugs or biologic immunomodulators can severe side effects and/or are highly expensive. So, there unmet need to develop new that could provide sustainable therapeutic effects. In study, we evaluated potential efficacy dendrimers treatment psoriasis. Dendrimers hyperbranched perfectly defined macromolecules nanometer size, constituted branches grafted on central core. IMD-006, phosphorus-based dendrimer capped with azabisphosphonate groups, has strong immuno-modulatory towards different immune cell types. We tested IMD-006 in two psoriasis models: imiquimod- induced murine model reconstructed human epidermis (RHE) model, which cocktails pro-inflammatory cytokines used induce psoriasis-associated changes. presented dose-dependent efficacies, significantly reducing lesions histopathological changes associated Moreover, show rapidly taken up by keratinocytes 2D culture, decreasing their proliferation increasing differentiation. mitochondria, increased mitochondrial ROS production ultimately lysosomal degradation these organelles. Therefore, anti-psoriatic effect is, at least part, result direct Our results demonstrate good candidates broad multiple types involved development progression disease.

Anti-Inflammatory Nutrition as a Pharmacological Approach to Treat Obesity

Obesity is a multifactorial condition resulting from improper balances of hormones and gene expression induced by the diet. Obesity also has a strong inflammatory component that can be driven by diet-induced increases in arachidonic acid. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the molecular targets that can be addressed by anti-inflammatory nutrition. These molecular targets range from reducti...

Dendrimer-like PEO glycopolymers exhibit anti-inflammatory properties.

A new class of high molecular weight polysulfated PEO dendrimer-like glycopolymer has been synthesized by a combination of arm-first and core-first methodologies followed by trichloroacetimidate glycosidation as a facile bioconjugation strategy. An L-selectin antagonist was identified that exhibits 103-fold greater activity than other multivalent sLex glycopolymers and 20-50 times greater poten...

EVALUATION OF ANTI-CANCER ACTIVITY OF COVALENTLY CONJUGATED METHOTREXATE TO POLYAMIDOAMINE GENERATION 4 DENDRIMER ON MCF-7 CANCER CELLS: AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY

Background & Aims: Poly (amidoamine) dendrimer (PAMAM) is highly macromolecular at nanosize with widely active amine groups on the surface that allows it to attach to the anti-cancer drugs such as Methotrexate (MTX). This study aimed to synthesize and characterize PAMAM-MTX (dendrimer-MTX) complex, then to evaluate the cytotoxic effect of the synthesized complex on MCF-7 cancer cells. Material...

Interaction studies reveal specific recognition of an anti-inflammatory polyphosphorhydrazone dendrimer by human monocytes.

Dendrimers are nano-materials with perfectly defined structure and size, and multivalency properties that confer substantial advantages for biomedical applications. Previous work has shown that phosphorus-based polyphosphorhydrazone (PPH) dendrimers capped with azabisphosphonate (ABP) end groups have immuno-modulatory and anti-inflammatory properties leading to efficient therapeutic control of ...

Evaluation of Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Nociceptive Effects of Defatted Fruit Extract of Olea europaea

Fruits of Olea europaea L. have been used for centuries in folk medicine to treat many inflammatory diseases. In order to evaluate the anti-nociceptive activities of the methanolic and aqueous extracts of defatted fruits of O. europaea, formalin test was used and for evaluation of anti-inflammatory effects of the extract, the volume of paw edema was measured. The results revealed that both extr...
